Corridor Wasteland

Corridor Wasteland

At the halls of leaders
In the boardroom of power

I walked
For miles and
Miles
Along the
Vast corridor wasteland

Empty shadows
All I saw
As I passed
Door after door
Solid shut

In need
Of company and consolation
I quietly
Opened one

Strange men
Exposing
Their egos and magic wands
In obscure gestures
Like mental penises

As I entered
Evil glances
And secret
Enchantments
Were
Cast

When did you
When did you sell
Your dirty little
Soul
For money?

When did you
Trade
Your decency
For the sweet
Rush
Of intoxicating supremacy?

Who did you lick
And who did you crush
For
Your fix of rule and command?

In panic
I opened door after door
Only to find
The same
Scenery

Grasping for air
I ran outside

Water and dusty rain
Music cleared the light
And strangest reasons
Seemed quite..

Distant

In the dim light
the children
in the ballet of war
danced
on the stones
and roses

Foreign voices
Radios
Death
Infinity
And a railroad track
That goes
on and on

I turned my back
On the city
Burnt my bridges
And killed
Their light
Of lies

Raise me an effigy
A statue of
Salt
If these sins
Are right

Please
Smite me then
For my home
Is not here
